About The UNO Ambassadors

The UNO Ambassadors is a student organization that promotes a strong, positive relationship among students, faculty, staff, and alumni. We serve as a liaison that maintains a positive image by representing the University of New Orleans to the university and to the community. The Ambassadors is a select group of student leaders, composed of men and women from each of the five colleges and from an array of different backgrounds, working together in an effort to aid the University to reach its ultimate potential.

Ambassadors are provided with the opportunity to develop interpersonal skills, to gain leadership experience, and to make important professional contacts. This opportunity occurs while we serve as hosts and guides at official University functions, such as the International Alumni Association’s Silver and Blue Gala, International Night, basketball games, Homecoming, Get to Know UNO, and Commencement Ceremonies.

Also, a major goal of the organization is to ensure the continued growth and success of the UNO Ambassador Scholarship fund. The scholarship was created to ease the financial hardship that comes with a college education. Each year the Ambassador organization is able to award two $500 scholarships. Although Ambassadors are not eligible for these scholarships, all other qualified students are encouraged to apply. Eligibility is based on the completion of 30 credit hours with at least a 2.7 GPA overall, and applicants must be a full-time undergraduate enrolled for both of the following fall and spring semesters.
