About
The UNO Ambassadors

The
UNO Ambassadors is a student organization that promotes a strong, positive
relationship between the University and the New Orleans community. One
major goal of the organization is to ensure the continued growth and success
of the UNO Ambassador Scholarship fund. The scholarship was created to
ease the financial hardship that comes with a college education. UNO Ambassadors
are not eligible for these scholarships.
The
UNO ambassadors will be recruiting members each semester. Invitations
will be sent via your email to all qualifying candidates. Make sure you
check your UNO email account!!
As
an Ambassador, you will be offered many wonderful opportunities which
include developing interpersonal and leadership skills and making important
contacts while serving as hosts and guides at official University functions,
such as the Alumni Association’s Silver, Blue and Black Tie Too,
Homecoming, Founders Day Convocation, conferences, and official University
events.
In
order to qualify for membership you must be a full-time undergraduate
student with at least 30 credit hours completed with a minimum 2.7 GPA.
Each
year the Ambassador organization is able to award two $500 scholarships.
Although Ambassador students are NOT eligible for these scholarships,
all other qualified students are encouraged to apply. Eligibility is based
on the same criteria for potential members as outlined above
