Beta Alpha Psi's Accounting Lecture Series
Click here to download ALS Registration FormEvery year the Gamma Sigma Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi hosts a one-day Accounting Lecture Series (ALS) that affords CPAs the opportunity to earn up to eight (8) hours of CPE credit. The lectures present several topics of importance to the practicing accountant. Past lectures have included, but were not limited to: state and local tax updates, professional issues updates, Katrina tax updates, fraud investigations, business valuations, business interruption, audit updates, non-profit audit updates, estate and gift tax, estate planning, systems security, bankruptcy, fraud, eldercare, tax preferred ways to pay for healthcare, retirement planning for the self-employed, Sarbanes-Oxley, asset retirement and environmental law, and identity theft/business fraud. Participants are presumed to have a general accounting background. No advance preparation or special prerequisite is required. Attendance is always taken at each session.
