What is the MSA?
What are the short term objectives of the MSA?
The Muslim Students' Association is a non-profit and non-political student organization at the University Of New Orleans which is affiliated with the MSA of the USA & Canada. MSA is a gateway to the Islamic World and allows opportunities for Muslims and Non-Muslims to learn more about the wonderful and fascinating world of Islam, which was founded by Prophet Muhammad(Salallahu Alayhiwasallam -peace be upon him) in the Arabian peninsula 1400 years ago, through the Divine Guidance of Allah (God).
MSA is a glimpse into the Islamic lifestyle and culture, which is practiced by 1 out of every 4 people. It is a misconception that most Muslims are Arab - in fact, the place with the most Muslims in the world is Indonesia. Muslims are located on every major continent in the world, from South America to Australia.
The objective of MSA over the next several years shall be to establish a social environment both on and off-campus in Islamic education that correctly understands the basic teachings of Islam, thus, to correct any misunderstandings about Islamic practices, and to integrate itself as a part of the academic community, as well as the New Orleans community at large.
