Volunteer Opportunities

GOLD Exhibit at the Old U.S.Mint from October 20th, 2007 through January 2nd, 2008
Marinta Skupin would like to recruit some students from the department who can serve as tour guides for groups of school students who will visit the exhibition. Training will be provided by the Louisiana State Museum's Education Department in the week of October 20 - 27, 2007. The exact times will still be determined, but the total training won't exceed 2 sessions of 2-3 hours each. Having successfully completed the training sessions, we ask that the students commit at least one morning a week, either a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday morning, from 10 AM and 11:30 AM to serve as a tour guide. Tours will be conducted from October 30, 2007 through December 14, 2007.

In exchange, they will offer students free admission to the exhibition at any time. This is also a chance to gain valuable experience, and as an opportunity for some community service.

If you are interested in volunteering please contact Dr. Kulp or Marinta Skupin, Curator of Education for Louisiana State Museum: (504) 568-6970
