Membership Information
Benefits of Membership in SIEo Recognition - SIE members are students who are proven performers. Achievement is recognized at the initiation banquet.
o Networking - Membership meetings and SIE functions provide opportunities to form relationships with people who have similar goals and interests. Professionals from the business community speak at designated meetings providing us with insight and experience into their fields of expertise.
o Shadow Program - Professionals from the business community give their time to individual SIE members to provide better prospective on the opportunities and challenges possible in the workplace. Mentor/student relationships can greatly enhance the probability of finding gainful employment.
o Leadership - SIE members are seen as leaders in the business college. Often, we are given opportunities to perform tasks that help us gain insight and experience as professionals.
o Scholarships - SIE awards scholarships on a national level.
o Fraternize - SIE is the collegiate arm of the Academy of Management. Members are welcome to attend social functions with faculty and staff.
Membership Requirements
Undergraduates
- o Hold at least a cumulative 3.25 GPA (in a system where "A" is a 4.0)
- o Have completed at least one year or 30 semester hours at the institution where the chapter is located
- o Have completed a minimum of one management course with a grade of "B" or better
- o Have stated their interest in continuing in the management or related curriculum by taking at least one more management course.
Graduates
- o Hold at least a cumulative 3.50 GPA (in a system where "A" is a 4.0)
- o Have completed at least one year or 30 semester hours at the institution where the chapter is located
- o Have completed a minimum of one management course with a grade of "B" or better
- o Have stated their interest in continuing in the management or related curriculum by taking at least one more management course
